wonderful song
from Simon Joyner off his Lousy Dance album. Groeten.
Joris Gillet.

world's best radio station. You can listen to KCRW

Zach from Burlingame writes: San Francisco has gone crazy over
Yo La Tengo. The two shows scheduled for late March sold
out in a day. They added a third, then a fourth, and still the
tickets disappeared like it was the Super Bowl. Ed found one ticket.
Amy and I weren't as lucky. My brother saw the show in Chicago
last weekend and deemed it "elegant but fun..."

Jah Tweeds from New Jersey writes: the kindercore
records site is a trove of sound files... like listen to toxic
girl in Real Audio, a great song by some dudes that still
have to emerge from behind that great big door of norwegian wood,
Kings of Convenience. Also of montreal has real
audio of the classic you
are an airplane. It's nice to bust, and the 'bird who continues...'
ep is excellent.
Here's a quick review from reader alex in the UK:
Stereo Total at Blow Up, London. A truly amazing performance!
BlowUp usually features bands that are cool in a musically limited,
look at our cheekbones kinda way. So nothing prepared the crowd
for the landing of Stereo Total's internationalpopUFO - a set
of songs I'd only heard that afternoon on CD sounded like long
lost classics when delivered with such vim and vigour live. A
languid Jeanne Moreau plays 50s twang with Serge G and Chuck Berry's
excitable cousins. Really rather marvellous! 10/10!
Andy Barratt writes: I am in Leeds in the north
of england. The local music scene has sucked for a very long time
since the demise of great indie poppers the Wedding Present.
the club scene has drowned under a unprecedented tidal wave of
bars that think they are clubs. one tacky dj and a designated
area for dancing does not qualify. [ed. we feel you!] however,
the one healthy direction music has in Leeds, and the north of
england in general, is drum and bass. leeds has 'dope', sheffield
'ny sushi' and manchester 'spellbound', all friday nights... I
listen to a diet of freq nasty, luke vibert, ram
trilogy and dillinjer. riiinse.
Andy just for you, here are some links: the
Wedding Present soundclip page, Massive
Drum 'n' Bass Real Audio/Real Video page featuring Dillinja,
Fluke, Photek and more. Plus don't miss this dope
Luke Vibert page. Mp3s galore... riiight back 'atcha.

DJC from London writes: The Essex Green are
quickly becoming one of my favorite groups. Flutes, melody, and
pop guitars in the Elefant 6 tradition. USOUNDS couldn't agree
more. The perfect intro to the group are these
four mp3 tracks. Start with the great 'Mrs. Bean' and fly
into indiepop fantasia...
