Madonna's new record is out today and to celebrate the pop star threw a lavish party in Los Angeles. Reportedly the bash cost the singer's label over 3 million dollars. Apparently Madge is still angry at USOUNDS over a minor incident in 1992 involving Terrence, American Buddhist, and no invitation was sent to our Los Angeles offices.

USOUNDS has long been huge supporters of Radiohead-- what other pop group has made such a fine trio of albums? However the madness coursing through the pop world over the release of Kid A got old about 6 months ago. Radiohead's antihype machine is the most effective press maker around-- a band usually has to sell about 2 million more records to get this much ink. Well USOUNDS, for one, is sick of it.

In other news, Radiohead will stream their new record 24-7 on September 19-22, the day after the album gets its BBC1 premiere. The "iblip" will also feature internet postcards, and is targeted at the "American Market," according to a publicist for the band's antipublicity campaign. Keep reading for details.

Radiohead, England's top space-rock-abstract-pop group will play Los Angeles, California, on October 20-- a mere 18 days after the release of the hotly anticipated "Kid A". In other wild Radiohead news, the band is about to head into the studio to record the follow-up to "Kid A," entitled "Plan B." That record has no release date, track listing, or any other information of any kind-- but we're sure when the time is right, the band's nonexistent publicity agency will let us know the minute details.

In excitingly different news, the world's premiere internacional music site, USOUNDS.COM, will "host" the new Radiohead album and interview, and mp3. By host, we mean of course, that the band has allowed us to post a link to their special mini-site, where you can listen to the album, download an mp3 (as if you couldn't already) and listen to an interview with the band. Just click on the standardized image above to get to the special site.

Cash Covers Cave, scream headlines around the world. Not really, but a bridge that was just asking to be built finally has been. Legendary country singer Johnny Cash will cover Nick Cave's "the Mercy Seat" on his upcoming record. The new album, the third in a trilogy with Swami-looking producer Rick Rubin, also dips into U2's One. Cave could not be reached for comment by USOUNDS, but we're sure he's honored by the Cashman's decision, as he's been doing his own version of Cash's Southern Gothic for years.

Apparently someone at the club didn't take kindly to the Marr man's signature strumming style, and stole the guitar from its backstage resting place. If you took it, or know who did, be a dear and call +44 20 7298 6000. Johnny really, really wants it back.

Members of Blur are seemingly never able to speak directly. For example, instead of saying simply that the band can't come up with any good new songs, guitarist Graham Coxon says the boys are 'experiencing creative tension.' The semiotics of playing in a art-rock band in modern England seem to get more complicated every day, don't they? Coxon also told Rolling Stone that he's putting together his own band for a North American jaunt in support of his second . Probably has nothing to with all that tension, though.

Want famed Belle and Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch to be your driver for an outrageous fun-filled trip around London? Hop over to the group's website and find out how to win the day of your wildest fantasies with the world's number one fey Scottish singing star.

Ok so it's not that tasty, but Liam now claims that after the relative failure of the last album and tour, the band is "all new" and will record their next album in "one week." In other Ho-asis news, Liam Gallagher has teamed up with Courtney Love for what might in fact be the most obnoxious duet ever. We'll have to wait for the new Hole album to find out.

And the news, right, that too. Reviews are pouring in, as are exclusive new mp3s from around the world. It's going to be another year of smashing success here on USOUNDS, that much is certain. --The Editor
