Uncut – Chain Fight

Uncut is a Canadian band who has played with AIDS Wolf, so it’s worth checking out.  Their 2006 album, Modern Currencies, will finally get a US release date within the next month. The following track has a rockin’ urgency that is reminiscent of Les Savy Fav.

NME reports that The Cribs’ new video for “Men’s Needs” has been banned from MTV2 due to graphic nature.  Ross Jarman’s arm is sliced off and bassist Ryan Jarman is beheaded.  Much to Edward I’s dismay, their next vid will not feature band members being drawn and quartered as originally scheduled.

Rocky’s fifth album = Rocky V

This new banjo-heavy Rocky song is quite lovely. I just listened to it 5 times in a row.  The new album (out June 19th) is called The Brag & Cuss and features James McAllister (Sufjan Stevens) on drums, Bill Herzog (Jesse Sykes) on bass, Casey Foubert (Pedro the Lion) on electric guitar, banjo, mandolin and percussion, and Rick Steff on Hammond b3, piano and accordion.
